Don’t know you, but you should listen to Diva Destruction

Start with "Prey" or "Ensavled"

Vampiros Chilangos don’t miss this month’s GND 🥀

We have a lineup of great in-house DJs, and I’ll be spinning a set of modern goth and darkwave. Let’s dance in the darkness together.

Tenemos un lineup de increíbles DJs residentes, y estaré tocando un set de goth moderno y darkwave. Bailemos juntos en la oscuridad.

I’m interrupting these unprecedented times to tell you I (an mtf) don’t feel safer around aANYOBE more than I do you guys.

To clarify, I’m not a goth. Maybe I could be a goth if I tried! But I haven’t tried at least not yet. Anyway, I am a trans woman and this community is the only community besides my own that is consistently wholesome and kind to me. More open arms than you count.

I gravitate towards you in public spaces because I’m like “Okay, safe people. Safe people. Thank God. Safe people.” And I won’t even know y’all and I haven’t been wrong yet.

Just gotta say, love you guys!

a friend of mine gave me this little CD today! they know i LOVE Virgin Prunes and they told me they don’t listen to this CD much anyways. this is my first Virgin Prunes CD

by the way, if anyone can tell me: how rare is this CD? i tried looking it up online, and found a few results, but not a lot and most were secondhand listings. this was pressed (and seemingly distributed) in France; i live in the United States.

Is there a reason why I don’t really see all that many Goth bands of all kind use creepy/dark imagery anymore?

I understand that what I show is purely regarding the Batcave club but I feel bands and lots of artists don't go for this kind of imagery all that much, and this nowadays (or something similar to it) is mostly adopted like anywhere in the Black Metal community… I also understand that this is 80's stuff and lots went for the "horror movies" look of the time but I feel like lots of bands simply have a post-punk outfit/wibe to it from the 70's or minimalistic imagery that everyone complains that are generic "skull, crow, dark plants, basically the mainstream's idea of the look… Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don’t mind clubbing alone

But sometimes I want to make friends. Typically I'm happy (perhaps happier) flying solo at the club, but I'd like to socialize more in my local scene

Any more extroverted/charming goths have advice on approaching people to chat at clubs? If you met your friends at a club I'd love to hear your stories 🙂

I will sometimes compliment other people's outfits or dance moves but have a hard time gauging whether it's appropriate to keep chatting them up or what to talk about (I'm on the spectrum and struggle a lil socially)

Going to a local goth event alone where you don’t know anyone

So I wanna go to this event on Long Island but I have no one to go with so I’ll likely be going alone. I’m autistic and a loner so Ive struggle to have go to friendships over the last couple of years as well as currently being single atm. There’s a huge goth scene in nyc but it’s pretty rare that they have these events on Long Island where the venue is literally 15 mins from your house so I wanna take advantage of it. How do you navigate a situation like this?

I don’t even know what I was going for, but I like how it turned out.

I took off some patches to cover up the old The Smiths logo I painted on there so I need to add them back.

Musicians, what’s your process for writing goth lyrics that don’t feel cringy, nonsensical or generic?

Musically, i feel im not too bad at writing stuff, especially basslines. However, when it comes to lyrics i can't re-read anything i've written without wanting to tear out my vital organs. Any tips?
